What could be more simple.....

Silk sarees are loved by all ladies, a lot. There's never going to have an end to this love.
Let's have a look at this dark purple silk saree. The saree pallu is contrast in reddish-maroon colour and the borders are golden. The saree is very light weight and easy to wear.
So, what I thought might look beautiful was this lotus with leaves. The lotus are done in flesh colour and it's outline finished with bluish- purple shade. The leaves were given the regular green shade.
The blouse piece is also in reddish-maroon colour.

Colourful face motif!!!

Today I have brought before you is this colourful Kalamkari Devi face motif in the Kerala two piece saree or the set mund.
The set mund was having a simple plain black border. So I thought along with black it would be nice to give other matching shades. This would make the design different and beautiful.
For this I chose orange and green. Both the colours were applied separately in different motifs and not at all in combination. Black shade was given for the border in each motif.

Now for this dress all the three colours can be matched in the blouse, either plain or in combination or even printed.

Any dress looks beautiful on you when you wear it in your own unique way.

Kalamkari Devi face motif !!

Most of the textile prints are inspiration to artists. They can be used either single or mixed with in combination with other designs.
Today I am with this Kalamkari Devi face design done in Kerala two piece saree or the set mund.
The first one is with simple plain blue border. The design is drawn in black thin border and has been filled with yellow colour. This is in contrast to the blue border and brings really good combination of colours.
The dress can be paired with either blue, or yellow, or a combination of both colours in the blouse. Or even printed.

Anyone might have a confusion that this looks like printed, but believe me this is completely hand painted thing.

Readymade dresses too....hmmm

Everybody likes readymade dresses, either printed or plain. We've  plenty of offline and online stores to buy them.
Usually what you might have experienced is that; you wear a lovely readymade dress on a special occassion and find at least two people wearing exactly the same dress .... which is too sad, and annoying....
Sometimes this also happens like, a different colour of your favourite dress is worn by someone else. It's not anyone's fault, but happens when there's a lot of designers who produce a variety of designer dresses, that impress us with the colours and designs.
So today I've come up with an idea that may bring comfort during such occasions. Yes, what one can do is get some beautiful designs done on a store-bought dress to look different. This can be done on your own.
I've done using different techniques like fabric/hand painting, hand/machine embroidery and even applique work. All these gives beautiful and new look to the readymade dress....
Look at this beautiful light pink readymade kurti that was bought from Myntra. Obviously the same kurti is available in different sizes. So I did some colourful designs that is attractive and looking good.

Floral in yellow...

A bunch of flowers always looks beautiful. And if it's of different colours?? Wow!!
Today I am with a yellow handloom saree. This is special because of the borders. It has a five colour border lined throughout the top and bottom ends.
This gives more joy to me 'cause I can fill in all those colours for the design. So this Mughal floral design should be the most suited design. It is simple, attractive in yellow and beautiful too.
Along with design in pallu, the top border has also been finished with similar design.
Actually because of the variety of colours used, the whole painting was a bit time consuming process. But I enjoyed that.....

Black and Pink .... matches well!!

Today I am sharing the hand painted design on a Kerala set mund (two piece saree) with black and golden borders. When I saw this set mund, I thought of doing an entirely different design .... like nobody would imagine. So first thing I did was that, I selected two shades along with black - they were salmon pink and golden yellow shades.
Actually, anyone can see that pink and yellow go along very well.
When the design was drawn and shaded, it needed a touch of black shade. So bordering the designs with black went super, I feel.

View of the single design

It looks like Kalamkari design, I would say and I am hoping you also like it.

I am very keen to hear from all of my near& dear ones regarding this design.

The variety Green shade!!

Look at this colourful light green silk saree with grey and green border. The pallu is plain with simply greenish golden border.
I wanted to do a simple but attractive design in this one. So I chose the usual elephant motif. The elephants face towards each other and are shaded with grey, golden and red colours. The red umbrella design also gives a festive look making the saree beautiful.

As an add on beauty both the entire borders of the saree , up and down, are finished with a thin red border line.

The scattered flowers

Today I am with a beautiful light pink saree. It's cotton silk and with a greenish-grey and golden shaded border. Definitely they match well.
I thought of flower design with a darker shade of pink in order to give a brighter look. So here it is with maroon flower and green leaves scattered all over the pallu.
The inside body of the saree is also done with the same flower design. Hope it's a simple design for a simple saree.
